Guiness Book and World Record Bench Press Contest

How to win:

Consult your doctor before participating in this weightlifting event and never lift wthout a spotter or alone. You could be seriously injured or killed.

1. In front of a witness and with 2 appropriate spotters present. Make your best bench press. Record the total weight lifted. now lower the weight to a weight that you can do multiple repetitions. Total the reps and multiply by the weight. The total of the two numbers added together is your total score of amount benched.

2. Your total score will be recorded individually and added to the cumulative total for your team if applicable and for your state or military base.

3.All the preliminary qualifying lifts will take place on December 13, 2009. You must logon to liftamericaup.com and record your total weight lifted.

5. Finals will be held one week later december 20, 2009 in New York City or a nearby suburb. the top ten in each category will be invited to compete. good luck!

6. You will be disqualified for lying or cheating. Your weightlifting location must be insured and it is your responsibility to verify the insurance. We recommend working out at a gym to test your max and ebdurance. Never ever work out at home alone.

7. All states will be included in the contest as well as all territories in the US. Military bases may also participate in the bench press contest.

8. Teams and military bases: To form a team you must register the team for $100 , military bases are free and should be listed already as teams. Here are the rules. Everyone has to be registered individually first. Once a team is formed , the team may add or delete team members. Its a numbers game in this contest and there is no limit to the number of participants on one team. Teams will have to provide signed affidavit , list of witnesses, and provide a notarized copy. on the day of the event we will list all the teams scores and weight cumulatively lifted. a winner will be decided based on the affidavit provided by the top teams and the affidavit is due by the tuesday following the preliminary event on December 13, 2009.
